Two years since you went to heaven, Mother . . . I still miss seeing you at the kitchen table when I walked in the house after work, waiting to have a cup of tea and talk about the way the day had gone, and I miss hearing you say “be a blessing” every time I walked out the door. Love you always.
Today is Thanksgiving Day and I am saying prayers of thanks for you, Mother, and for all the wonderful years we had together. This holiday is not the same without you, of course, but I am eating some turkey, cornbread stuffing, and sweet potato casserole in your honor.
