Jimmie Lee Proctor's Obituary
Jimmie Lee Proctor, 81, devoted husband, father, and grandfather went to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Born on October 17, 1936, to Kossie and Evelyn Proctor, in Bridgeport, Texas, Jim graduated from Carter Riverside High School. Following high school, Jim served the country he dearly loved by enlisting in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged on May 31, 1964. Jim continued his education and earned an Associates of Science degree in engineering from Arlington State.After meeting the love of his life, Frances Becan, they were married on June 8, 1963. He and Frances had two children, Kala and Jason. In 1968, Jim and Frances started Turnamatic Machine Inc., in their garage and it has grown to one of the largest machine shops in the Dallas area.Jim was an avid reader, outdoorsman, and traveler. His greatest joy was trips with Frances and his family to Europe, Africa, Hawaii, Alaska, and especially, his farm. Always one to leave a smile on your face, his wit and intelligence will be missed by all who knew him.Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Proctor; children and their spouses: Kala and Norman Arguello, and Jason and Connie Proctor; granddaughters: Emily Arguello, Ashley and Olivia Proctor; brother and sister-in-law, Billie Jack and LuRee Proctor; and nieces Gina Jeffries and Hillary Proctor; and nephew Richard Proctor.He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.Please join the family in a celebration of Jim’s life on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Reception immediately following the celebration.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
