Jim was a wonderful man with a very young soul! He never met a stranger as long as his hearing aid had batteries. I really loved swapping Navy stories with him and letting him pick on me. Jim was a GREAT man and will be missed!

Jim has been a member of my family for a little over 20 yrs now , there won't be a day that goes by that he won't be missed . We feel blessed that in our lifetime we were able to have the honor, to know and love him . Connie Hess and family
Our hearts are broken. Jim and my Dad, Richard Popchoke have been good friends for 47 years. He was my parents neighbor and apart of our family. We will miss you dearly. Love you, Uncle Jim. -Whitney Popchoke
I meet Jim through Connie at the Shop where he would visit daily he would bring lunch he had made on some days but i think he mainly came to hear what the girl talk around town was and over time we came to love him as part of the familiy. The Irish festival was always fun with him, he and Jeromie were cute in the skirts that they woud wear. He would find a place to sit and lisiten to music while we walked around checking things out so we could let him know what we found that he might be interested in looking at ( pretty smart of him to save him from walking too much ). We will miss him and all the small jobs he would call them that he would ask to hire us to do for him some bigger than others but all payed the same and came with breakfes lunch and if i remember right a new utility knife so we wouldnt take his (as he would tell it ) always finding his ofter we were gone home…. Jim was a special kind of friend to all of us I am glad i had the opportunity to know him and be his friend, will miss him dearly.
What can I say that hasn't already been said .Jlim may not have had any children of his own but my children had a 2nd. Dad in Jim. He was there when they were born he changed their diapers let the boys have sleep overs and he would help them with homework when their own Dad was at work.. Richard and Jim had been friends for 47 years first living in the same apartment complex and when Jim bought his home in Balch Springs Richard bought a house down the street from Jim.They both had jobs at the same post office and rode to work together for a while till Jim retired and Richard soon retired later….. Jim I hope you know how much you meant to our family. There are not enough words to tell you how dear you are to our family we will truly miss you and will love you until we meet again.- Vickie Popchoke
