It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Dee Barham, born on April 16, 1948, and departed from this world on September 20, 2023. Jimmy was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jimmy was born in Herple AR, where he spent his early years surrounded by a loving family. He was the son of Curtis and Ruth Barham, and his upbringing was filled with love, values, and a strong sense of community. Jimmy's childhood was marked by his insatiable curiosity, his love for adventure, and his kind-hearted nature.
On March 15, 1979, Jimmy married the love of his life, Linda Carey. Their love story was one for the ages, and they shared nearly 44 years of unwavering commitment and joy together. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and companionship, and their marriage was a source of inspiration to all who knew them.
Jimmy was not only a devoted husband but also a dedicated father to 3 children: [Jimmy, Michael, Robert]. He took great pride in watching them grow, offering his guidance, and instilling in them the same values of love, kindness, and integrity that he held dear. He was their rock, their protector, and their greatest supporter.
As a grandfather, Jimmy reveled in the joys of being a "Paw” to 5 grandchildren: [Brandon, Brian, Connor, Harrison, and Grant] & 2 great-grandchildren [Jordan and Wyatt.] He cherished every moment spent with them, regaling them with stories, imparting his wisdom, and creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Throughout his life, Jimmy was known for his warm smile, his boundless generosity, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had an infectious sense of humor and an ability to find joy in life's simplest pleasures. His presence could light up a room, and his laughter was music to our ears.
Jimmy's memory will be forever cherished by his family and friends, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire us all. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in our hearts and in the countless memories we shared with him.
A memorial service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on Wednesday September 27 at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Ave Dallas, TX 75243. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 26, from 4pm until 7pm.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Your kindness and love have provided great comfort.
