Loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather.Born in Junction, Texas on February 8, 1930. Died on April 23, 2019.Preceded in death by parents Charlie and Ann Green. Survived by wife of 67 years, Madge Washburn Green, Daughter Rebekah Watson of San Antonio, son Mark Green of Boulder, Colorado; five grandchildren – Heather Renee Green, John Charles Watson III, Jesse Ann Watson, Madge Cristina Watson and Katherine Delores Watson; two great grandchildren – Naneusko Jeanette Watson and John Charles Watson IV.Moved to Dallas at age 5, attended Public schools in Dallas, graduating from Sunset High School in 1947. Graduate of North Texas State University (now UNT), earning a BBA degree in 1951. Member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. While at UNT, met and married Madge Washburn on July 21, 1951.Served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.Began his business career in the trust division of First National Bank in Dallas, retiring as Vice President and Trust Officer in 1990, after 35 years of service.Graduate of SouthWestern Graduate School of Business at SMU in 1962.Former long time member Brookhaven Country Club. Coached youth baseball and basketball while a member of the University Park Methodist Church. Coached little league baseball while a member of the Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.Hobbies: Golf and flower gardening. Has played many beautiful golf courses in Texas, Nevada, California, Hawaii and Europe, especially the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland.While employed at First National, he enjoyed organizing sporting events for his Trust Division – namely golf, softball and bowling tournaments.Legacy: Playing the banjo and ukulele for kids, family members and friends with sing-alongs.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April, 27, 2019 at 3pm at the Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. Interment to follow.
