Jimmy (Jim) Lee Bryan's Obituary
Bryan, Jimmy (Jim) Lee It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jimmy (Jim) Lee Bryan (79) at his home in Lantana, Texas on December 20, 2012 after a courageous battle with numerous illnesses including Parkinson’s disease and cancer. He was a fighter to the end! Jim was born in Matador, Texas on January 3, 1933 to Bessie Lee (Beeson) Bryan and Lawrence Bryan. After graduating from Abilene High School in 1951, Jim joined the US Navy serving on the USS Titania, USS Cacapon and the USS Jason. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy at the rank of Petty Officer Second Class on January 31, 1960. Jim graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and began his professional career. He worked for Texas Instruments for 26 years in Technology Information Systems and retired in 1991. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; step father, George Pratt; sister, Norma Barbee; and step daughter, Angela Nevils. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy Bryan of Lantana Texas; four children; ten grandchildren; and several great grand children. The Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2012, from 4 to 6 PM at Restland Funeral Home, Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012, at 10 AM in Restland Wildwood Chapel on the West side of the Restland Cemetery.
