Rocky was a large part of Fanning Harper Martinson Brandt & Kutchin PC. We are blessed to have had him in our lives for so many years. We were his family away from home, and spent a large part of our waking hours with Rocky.
Rocky was a man of integrity. He was honest. He was genuine. He was a man of his word. He was a good person who brought his goodness to the practice of law. We saw it. His clients saw it. Even his opponents saw it.
Rocky was excellent at what he did. He was committed to his clients, to his profession and to our firm. He knew the law. He knew it so well that he made it look effortless. His self-deprecating nature might fool you, as it undoubtedly fooled many of his opponents. He talked low, he talked slow, and he didn’t talk too much, but what he said was true and effective. He was very good in front of juries. His victories were routine.
Rocky was a team player. He was always available to share his wisdom and experience with younger lawyers, and he would always be the first to celebrate the victories of others. Any time such a victory was announced in a firm-wide email, Rocky would, with his unique brand of humor, remark “Splendid behavior!”
Rocky was also a kind man – a trait that our world sorely needs and a trait that seems to be sorely lacking in our profession.
Rocky lived and shared kindness, caring, compassion, and competence. We miss him very much. From his friends at FHMBK.
