Jimmy Don Russell's Obituary
Jimmy Don Russell passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Richardson, TX on September 14, 2023.
Jimmy was born on August 2nd, 1948, to Charles and Loraine Russell in Dallas, TX. He spent most of his life in Garland, TX. Three years of his life was dedicated to the Army with 18 months in Okinawa, Japan.
Jimmy and Sue, his wife of 55 years, met at a roller skating rink in Wylie, TX. They have lived in the same home for more than 51 years. Together they raised their son Jammy Russell, who was his pride and joy.
His greatest accomplishment was loving his family and being present when it was most needed. He worked hard to provide for his family and give them everything possible.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sue Russell; and son, Jammy Russell with his wife, Donna Russell. They have three grandchildren: Margaret (Russell) Rivers (Hunter) of Van, TX, Justin Russell of Farmersville, TX and Charles Russell of Arlington, TX. They also have two lovely great-granddaughters: Elizabeth and Charlotte Rivers of Van, TX. He is survived by two sisters and one brother: Charlene (Russell) Whisenhunt, Brenda (Russell) Williams (Jody), and Roger Russell (Janie ). He also has several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 18th, 2023 from 5pm-7pm. The service in celebration of the life of Jimmy Russell will be held on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023 at 2:00pm. Both the visitation and service will be held at Restland Funeral Home. The address is 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. The service will be specifically located at the Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the research of cancer - specifically liver cancer.
