Jimmy Jackson Smith's Obituary
Jimmy Jackson Smith, of Malakoff, Texas, 73 passed away on April 6, 2020 in Malakoff, Texas of prostate cancer. He was born January 28, 1947, to Roscoe Jackson Smith, Jr. and Evelyn Treadaway Smith in Dallas, Texas.
He married Lou Ann (Hyde) Smith on April 16, 1989 in Dallas, Texas.
He was a CPA and tax preparer for over 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Malakoff. He served in the Naval Air Core with the Attack Squadron 155 (AKA “ROADRUNNERS”) in Vietnam from Aug. 1967 thru Nov. 1968, and then in the Reserves for 3 years as an E4 Plane Captain. Jay was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and had absolute certainty that when he lost his battle with prostate cancer here on earth, that he would be ushered to his Heavenly home to spend eternity with his Lord. He was the Director of Amazon Charities. A mission minded organization helping orphans in Africa and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ across the world.
He is survived by his wife of almost 31 years, Lou Ann Smith, of Malakoff, TX; daughters, Michelle Deauhon Smith of Malakoff, TX, and Rachel Marie (Smith) Zahn of Hurst, TX; sons, Brian Jay Smith of Washington, and Grayson Paul Smith,, of Omaha, NE; and 4 grandchildren, Ian Nolan Smith, Eloise Isidore Smith, Rede Thomas Boyd and Charlie Rae Zahn.
