Jimmy Darrel Sutton's Obituary
Jimmy Darrel Sutton, born in Mountain View, Arkansas, on September 14, 1942, went to be
with his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2025, in Waxahachie, Texas. He was preceded in
death by his beloved wife, Patsy Ruth Sutton, his parents Leon & Jaunita Sutton and brother
Ronald Sutton and grandson Ryan Murphy.
Jimmy was a kind and gentle man, known for his captivating stories and remarkable
storytelling abilities. His game room, filled with slot machines, a jukebox, air hockey, and
more, was a favorite gathering spot for his grandchildren and family, who cherished every
moment spent with him. Jimmy's playful spirit and child-like soul made him a joy to be
around, and he approached everything he did with passion and competitiveness. He also
loved playing darts competitively, bowling was another fun sport he loved as well as tinkering
in his garage and woodworking.
He spent his final working years at Carrier Air Conditioning & Heating. He retired from
Carrier in 2006 after working there for 20 years as the lead diagnostic support for techs all
over the states. He also was a professor at East Field College for many, many years even
after retiring from Carrier. He was a born teacher and loved helping solve problems.
One of Jimmy's greatest joys was decorating his house for Christmas, ensuring it was the
brightest in the neighborhood. He had a real knack for fixing things. Jim and Patsy loved
traveling, especially with family. They enjoyed going to Las Vegas, and in later years really
enjoyed exploring the world by cruise ships.
His two daughters, Sheri Ten Hagen and Karen Murphy, were the lights of his life.
He leaves behind his brothers, Bruce & Don Sutton, his daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri & Scott Ten Hagen and Karen & Steve Murphy. His grandchildren, Shawna Blume, Kara Ten
Hagen, Bailey Ragsdale, Austin Ten Hagen & Meagan Kluge along with all his great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He always had a way of making everyone feel special. We will all miss his big bear hugs he
loved to give us! He will forever be loved and missed by his family, friends, and all who knew
him.
