Jo Ann Streetman's Obituary
Mrs. Jo Ann Streetman (known to her family as Mama Jo), of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2014. She spent her last days with her family and friends by her side. Jo Ann married her high school sweetheart, and love of her life, L.J. Streetman, on June 12, 1950 and remained happily married until his death on March 2, 2005. After college graduatiom, while raising a family of three children she was and educator and instrumental in helping her husband develop and operate a successful Dairy Queen business. As a result of their hard work they were able to spend close to 55 years traveling the world together, and often with family and friends, reaching as far as Europe, Australia and most of the United States. Jo Ann was an avid tennis player, enjoyed square dancing, her beautiful bichon frise puppies, and was very involved with her church. Above all, Jo Ann will be remembered for her steadfast love, care and compassion for her family and friends. She will be truly missed and survived by her son, Mike Streetman and wife Melissa of San Antonio, her two daughters; Phillis Hager of Dallas and Debbie Pool and husband Jim of Frisco, her brother Dick Railsback and wife Joyce of Amarillo, six grandchildren; Ginny, Carrie, Colby, Kelly, Cody and Allie, and seven great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Garrett, Mason, Hailey, Jackson, Emma and Chase. Mrs. Streetman was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, L.J. Streetman, and grandson Casey Jay Streetman. A graveside service will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas in the Whispering Waters Garden area in the southwest corner of the cemetery on October 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
