Mrs. Joan Brett's Obituary
Our beloved “Irish Queen” passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born on May 24, 1931 in Bronx, New York, she remained a New Yorker at heart until the end. Joan’s greatest achievement was her family and “Nana” will live on forever in our hearts. She taught us the true meaning of courage and leaves behind her adoring family: loving husband of 57 years, Donald J. Brett; and four children: daughter Kerry Franklin (Ben III), and sons Dennis Brett (Debbie), Brian Brett (Suzanne) and Kevin Brett (Susan), along with 10 grandchildren: Justin, Christine, Amanda, Ben IV, Donna, Keith, Kate, Jordan, Brendan and Beth. As a founding member of St. Rita Catholic Community, she also leaves behind many friends who will remember her love for shopping, and her sense of humor, with a smile. Visitation will be 7:00-8:00pm, Friday, December 30th at St. Rita Catholic Church. Service will be 11:00am, Saturday, December 31st also at St. Rita Catholic Church.
