Joan Hebden Crissey's Obituary
Beloved Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Christian and Friend, left us the day of February 6, 2009 and went to live with her Lord and Savior. Born June 4, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was married to Kenneth Lee Crissey for 53 years until he went to live with his Lord and Savior in February 2007. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Butler. Joan O. Crissey is survived, remembered and will always be loved by her sister, Dorothy O. Varn; friend and brother-in-law, Edgar R. Crissey; daughter, Susan Scales and husband Charles W. Scales, Jr.; son, Scott Crissey; daughter, Sharon Crissey and husband Jim Morton; son, Steven Crissey. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Melissa Scales, Sara Teague, Charles Scales III, Derek Crissey, Nicole Crissey, Jesse Crissey, Stephanie Crissey, Ellis Le Morton, Jackson Morton, and Jay Morton; 3 great-grandchildren; Makayla Crissey, Noah Crissey Opert, Ryleigh Teague; and many close friends. We encourage you not only to mourn for her death, but to especially rejoice for her life and the lives she touched along the way. A memorial service will be held at the Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Chapel; located on 8011 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, TX 75225; on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 4:00 pm. A reception will follow in the church parlor. Joan O. Crissey will be buried with her beloved husband at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
