Joan P. Fuller's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our loved one Joan Patricia Fuller, born January 18th, 1934 & departed this earthly life April 20th, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
She was the eldest of 6 children born to the late William & Johanna Palfrey in Cardiff, Wales. Joan grew up in Wales & fulfilled her dream by working with British Airways in London. It was there that she & Frank met, & later married in 1961. Both children, Francine & Jonathan, were born in London where the family lived until they moved to Sydney, Australia. Two years later, they moved with Frank’s work to Dallas & Joan concentrated on being a busy wife & mother of a Texan family. She was a member of the Dallas Geological/Geophysical Assoc., several garden & book clubs, the Cadence Dance Club & volunteered her time with various philanthropic organizations, as well as the Catholic Church. They loved entertaining their friends & cherished those relationships dearly, including those at the Edgemere Community where they lived later in life.
Their love of travel & opportunities allowed them to live in Europe, Asia, Australia & the Americas. As well, Joan often revisited her home in London & Wales where her brother Michael, sisters Angela & Maria, and beloved nieces & nephews, cousins & friends live.
She is survived by daughter, Francine; son, Jonathan & his wife, Allison; & her two adored grandchildren, Olivia & Noah. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Roy Lee Fuller & David S. Fuller, & many fond relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Frank; her parents; brother, Bernard; & sister, Maureen.
She will be remembered by all who knew her as a gracious, compassionate woman, with utmost integrity & the most devoted wife, sister, mother, Nana and friend. A private memorial service celebrating Joan’s life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 30, at Wildwood Chapel - Restland Funeral Home.
