Joan Gannaway's Obituary
Joan has completed her journey. She was born July 28, 1932 in Dallas and grew up in Cleburne, TX. She was delivered from her tired body by the God she loved on August 13, 2018. Joan fought for many years vasculitis and heart disease but she never lost her positive spirit, her wonderful smile, that sparkle in her eyes when she told a story, her high energy and caring attitude for others. She met her loving husband of 68 years, Bill, at Mercantile National Bank in Dallas. She also worked for CIT Corporation for 31 1/2 years. After retirement she and her husband moved from Garland, TX to Lake Winnsboro. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro where she taught an adult ladies Bible study class for many years. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states, Canada and all over Europe. Survivors include her husband Bill, two sons Randall and wife Lauren, Danny and wife Joy, one daughter Sandy Akright and husband Gary, 14 grand children, 13 great grand children and 3 great, great grandchildren. All of which she loved dearly. Funeral services for Joan will be at the First Baptist Church Winnsboro, 200 West Broadway St., at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018.
