Joan Hale's Obituary
HALE, JOAN July 21, 1932- April 9, 2008, Betty Joan Massengill died peacefully Thursday night after 20 years of ill health. She joins her husband of 52 years, Ray Hale, two years after his passing. Joan was born, and raised in Dallas, to Birdie Louise Nolen and Earl Brian Massengill. She was an attentive mother and homemaker; creative and witty, with a voice like Doris Day. In their early years as a couple, Joan and Ray were very active in the Youth Ministry at White Rock United Methodist Church. They retired in Rockwall. She leaves two daughters and sons in law: Melody and Ricky Brockway and Julie and Terry Ford, as well as four grandchildren; one sister and brother in law, Patsy and Charlie Massoud; one sister in law, Mildred Barrett; and 28 nieces and nephews. The family will hold a graveside service at Restland.
