Grandma Jo was the sweetest people I could have ever met, she always knew how to bring joy to even the hardest situations. Her witty humor, and big smile never would disappoint, she taught me there is no reason not to be happy and count your blessings. She would never let a tough situation get her down, and could cheer anyone up. I will never forger the happiness she brought me every time I would visit and the ridiculous stories about all of her "boyfriends" and other trouble she would get into. You are a incredible lady and I am so lucky to call you my grandma. I know you and grandpa are partying right about now, don't get too wild. Love you so much! Megan Kaltenbach

Joan was a most special woman who never complained about her difficulties. I am a member of the same Red Hats and also water aerobics she was in. She always brought little gifts to folks. Her laugh and crinkled eyes certainly reflected her enjoyment of life. I'll never forget how gentle she was with Bill when she'd bring him to class with her. Sue Hicks
There are no words. Joan always lit up the room. We have been friends through Red Hat Peppers and water aerobics. I will miss her laugh and lovely cards and notes. Edith Hamilton
Joan, I'm sure I heard a heehaw from Heaven when you got there Sunday. But, hey, you've got lots of material to keep it going. Thanks for sharing some of your laughter, energy and enthusiasm when I was around. Sorry to lose you but are joyful that you're back with Bill.
