Joan Krempein Stokey's Obituary
Joan Krempein Stokey was born on January 11, 1951 in Houston, TX. After a courageous battle with colon cancer she died in Plano, TX on March 26, 2017 and went home to the loving arms of Christ. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1969 and graduated cum laude from UTD with a Bachelor of General Studies in Business and Human Resources Management in 1983. She married Dave Stokey in 1971 and together they built cherished friendships, experiences and memories through extensive travel and career moves around the country with homes in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, San Angelo, Overland Park, KS, Durham, NC, Marietta, GA and Plano. Joan was the consummate human resources professional and worked in senior human resources management for several major corporations, retiring in 2014. Joan is preceded in death by her parents Al and Avis Krempein. Joan is survived by her loving husband Dave Stokey; siblings Jean (Krempein) Spangenberg and husband Bill, Gary Krempein and wife Dorothea and their daughter Margie; nephew David Stokey and wife Julia and their daughters Devon, Alice and Megan; niece Kim Fernandes and husband Jude and their daughters Grace and Gabriella. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Joan will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2017 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
