Joan Laidlaw Smith's Obituary
Joan L Smith born in Prince Albert, SK, Canada on January 18, 1924, died in Dallas, TX on February 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Genevieve Mcintosh, her husband of 68 years, Thomas M Smith and her son, Douglas Vaughan Smith. Survived by her brother Ian Mcintosh (Glenys) of Prince Albert, SK, Canada, son Alan (Margaret) Smith, daughter Kathryn (John) Martin, grandsons Christopher (April) Martin, Cameron (Christa) Martin, James (Debbie) Smith, Colin Martin, Kyle Martin, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Joan served in the RCAF during WW2 (where she met her husband), was an excellent teacher in local pre-schools, loyal church member, local church organist and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Calling hours Friday, Feb 24, 2017 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Restland. Funeral Services Saturday, February 25, 10:00 AM at Restland WildWood Chapel.
