Joan Dietz Stanphill's Obituary
Joan Dietz Stanphill, age 85, passed away on November 28, 2023, at her daughter's home in Mesquite, Texas. Joan Lillian Dietz was born on September 13, 1938, in Dunsmuir, California to parents Frank and Harriett Dietz. Joan married John H. Stanphill on September 16, 1956, in Roseville, California. He preceded her in death, after 54 years of marriage, on June 25, 2011.
Joan volunteered at Memorial Garland Hospital for over 20 years. She retired from Avent ( formally Hall-mart Electrics ) after 22 years. She loved to eat and sweets were her favorite. Joan loved to celebrate at Cheesecake Factory for her birthday and Mother's Day. In the past, she also did a lot of traveling including to Hawaii which was her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, husband, grandson, Kevin Stanphill and son in law, Thomas Hopkins.
Joan is survived by her children, Jerry Allen Stanphill (Karen) of Monroe, Virginia, Janice Lynn Hopkins of Mesquite, Texas and John Charles Stanphill (Joanne) of Prunedale, California and her boyfriend of 7 years, Lee McNair.
She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
