Joan C. Wilson's Obituary
Joan Carolyn Wilson was born September 20, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee to John and Edna Bennett. Her family moved to Texas where she met and married the love of her life James Emmett Wilson. Together they built a home and legacy of love for their 6 children. While Joan loved being an Avon lady, her true passion was her family. She would never pass up an opportunity to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Joan passed peacefully from this earth, surrounded by her children, September 1, 2021, to join her husband of 66 years in Heaven. Joan is preceded in death by her husband James, sisters; Jean Norman and Dorothy Frix, and parents; John and Edna Bennett.
Joan leaves behind her children: Carolyn Kerley and husband Danny, Nancy Kroeger, Linda Turner, James “Skip” Wilson and wife Julie, Diane Beaman and husband Rick, Susan Camarillo and husband Mike, sister Margaret Norman and husband Olan, sister’s in law, Louise McDonald and Virginia Waggoner, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021 at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. Interment will follow at Restland. Masks are required by City Ordinance.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the home of Linda Turner following the interment.
