If yellow roses grow in heaven, pick a bunch for me, place them into Joanie's arms and tell her they`re from me, tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while…because remembering is easy, I do it everyday, there`s an ache within my heart that will never go away.
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, 'There she goes!' Gone where? Gone from my sight … that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, 'There she goes!' there are other eyes watching her coming and their voices ready to take up the glad shouts 'Here she comes!'" ~ by Henry Van Dyke ~
Bob, I wish I could take away the pain you must be feeling. Joanie lit up the room where ever she went, she was a loving Wife, Mother, and Friend. I am sorry I could not make it to her Memorial. You and your family are in our Prayers. Ned

I had lots of fun with Joanie in High School. We did not keep in touch much after I went to college but I truly loved her and she left a special mark on my heart. Feel free to contact me for any reason.
