JoAnn Adamcik, 72, of Dallas, TX
JoAnn Adamcik, a remarkable woman known for her grace, intelligence, and kind heart, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on June 22, 1952, in Austin, Texas, to Joe and June Brooks, JoAnn’s life was marked by selfless love, generosity, and exceptional achievement.
A true pioneer in the financial industry, JoAnn broke barriers as the first female Vice President of Comerica Securities, culminating a career dedicated to helping others achieve success. Her remarkable career in banking and investing was preceded by an inspirational modeling and fashion career in her younger years. As JoAnn ventured into adulthood, she set forth on adventurous travels across the United States and abroad, embracing the marvels of life with the spirit of a young woman. Beyond her vibrant journeys and professional accomplishments, JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben Adamcik. She is survived by her sons, Eric and Ryan Hoopes and their wives, Tara and Emily; her stepchildren, Brian Adamcik and wife Kallie, Jeff Adamcik and wife Maureen, Christy Gammill and husband Bill, Jason Adamcik, and Stephanie Fine and husband Dan; her grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Charlotte, Grace, Wayne, and Lily Hoopes; Nash, Bailey, Robi and Lucy Gammill; Olivia, Jackson, Sophia and Harrison Adamcik; Jules, Ari and Lisle Fine; Jessica Ward, Kathryn Adamcik, Ashley Dyvig; Peyton, Gregory and Bradley Adamcik. She is also survived by her brothers John Brooks and wife Kathleen, Jeff Brooks and wife Su’Sanne, and sister Judith Oldham.
JoAnn was a devoted Christian, talented baker, loving grandmother, and loyal companion to her two dogs, Lexi and Dax. She had a gift for remembering important dates, such as birthdays and anniversaries, and always went out of her way to make others feel special. Her generosity and thoughtfulness touched the lives of many.
A memorial service to celebrate JoAnn’s life will be held at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX on Monday, December 23rd, 2024 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas, TX.
