JoAnn Blatney's Obituary
Born July 17, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Wilbur and Faye Terry and passed away May 24, 2015 in Garland, Texas. JoAnn graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1949. She managed the bookkeeping for Blatney Custom Homes, a family business. She also retired from Mobil Oil. JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her mother, Faye Herrell, and husband, Charles; brothers Scott Terry and Bill Terry and sister Mary Brand. JoAnn is survived by her son, Michael Blatney; her daughter, Debra Cain; her grandchildren: Michael Cain, Jimmy Cain, Adam Blatney, Meredith Cain, Andrew Blatney and Daniel Blatney; her great-grandchild Charlie Cain; sister Dorothy Cassman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in-law. JoAnn loved to sew and crochet, creating lots of gifts and all the family Christmas stockings. She enjoyed hosting family events and decorating for all holidays, especially Christmas where the grandkids looked forward to Nanny’s chocolate pie especially. JoAnn loved her pets, especially her Boston Terriers and her last two dogs, Scooter and Snuffy. JoAnn will be remembered as a fun bingo and casino companion where she loved to enjoy a Dr. Pepper. JoAnn spent the last few years at Garnet Hill Rehabilitation in Wylie, Texas where she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends. JoAnn’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Services for JoAnn will take place at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
