JoAnna Gordon Brooks' Obituary
JoAnna Gordon Brooks passed away on April 28, 2021 at the age of 73 in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her daughters: Dianna DiGiammatteo of Dallas, Texas, Chrissy Renfrow of Herndon, Virginia and Katie Gordon of Prosper, Texas; her sister, Margaret "Peg" Gordon of Dallas, Texas; her three grandchildren, Luke, Jackson and Lyla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
JoAnna Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 29, 1947 to Reynolds and Margaret Gordon and moved to Texas as a teenager. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. After college, she became a labor and delivery nurse at Presbyterian Hospital where she worked for 37 years. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church. She loved her family, raising 3 girls. She enjoyed playing tennis, family vacations to South Padre Island, and proudly cheered for her Oklahoma Sooners. She liked being outside, always willing to take a walk. She loved all animals, especially horses. She had a contagious, silly sense of humor, often sending the family into hysterics. She was strong. She beat cancer twice. She adored and enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, Luke, Jackson and Lyla. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
