Jody Dee Shaw's Obituary
SHAW, JODY DEE Born in Garland, Texas to John Henry and Elizabeth Shaw on December 31, 1937, he went to his heavenly home May 3, 2014. He attended Garland High School, served in the US Army, worked at Texas Instruments for 17 years, owned Pinecrest Schools in Tyler and Lindale for 35 years, and retired from Lindale ISD in 1999. He enjoyed music, gardening, watching anything the grandkids were in, traveling, playing games, fishing, cars, and projects. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally Ann Jackson Shaw, and his children and grandchildren and great grandchild: Lisa and Randy Cooper, Diana and Katy, Marc Shaw, Alex and Leighton Shaw, John and Terry Shaw, Spencer and Savanna, Deanne Shaw; and his sister Mary Todd, and brothers Bob Shaw and Cecil Shaw and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on May 7, 2014 at Lindale First United Methodist Church, with visitation at 10:30 AM. Graveside service with honor guard will be held at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas at 4:00 PM. Pall bearers: Marc Shaw, John Shaw, Spencer Shaw, Van Watkins, Tommy Todd, Randy Cooper. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Jody’s name to a youth sports group, an animal care group, or military support or honor group as these things were dear to his heart.
