Joe Albertson's Obituary
Joe Albertson passed away February 21, 2017 in Dallas, TX. He is survived by his wife, Cricket Albertson, brother Dewey Albertson Jr., son Mark Albertson and his wife Denise, son Norman Albertson and his wife Jacky; grandchildren Kathryn Albertson, Michael Adams, Trey Albertson and his wife Jessica, Garrett Albertson, and Jeanette Albertson. Born in Palatka, Florida in 1929, Joe enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 serving in the Korean War with the 3rd Infantry Division and was awarded 3 Bronze Star Medals. After meeting the love of his life in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Joe returned to Florida where they married and Joe graduated from the University of Florida, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1956. Joe’s exceptional talents were employed by companies such as Collins, Rockwell, and Boeing and greatly committed his aptitudes to the progression of his profession as well as the U.S. Space Program. More importantly than his profession, Joe was most concerned with furthering the kingdom of the Lord as he served as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was a man of God, full of love and compassion for people. He was a long standing member of the Agape Class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. There will be a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. In lieu of flowers, the Albertson Family requests donations be made to carrytheload.org on Joe’s Behalf. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
