Joe W. Brannum's Obituary
Joe Willis Brannum was born June 21, 1937 and lived his 77 years in Dallas, TX. He passed away on February 19th, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer A. Brannum and Vera Brannum and son, Garry J. Brannum. He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa K. Brannum of Dallas, TX and Cynthia C. Brannum of Waxahachie, TX and son, Ricky L. Brannum of San Antonio TX. He has many, many cousins. He went to Rylie High School and played football, which was a lifelong love. Joe worked with his father until 1966 when he started working at Vought Aerospace at the Grand Prairie, TX location (now Triumph Aerospace). He worked there for 38 years. He retired in 1994 and enjoyed traveling the United States, with his wife of 56 years, Carol Brannum and his good friend and cousin, the late Charles Hitchcock and his wife Judy Hitchcock. He loved to make a Merry Christmas for his children and especially enjoyed picking out the largest possible Christmas tree he could find. He enjoyed going with his family and his friend’s families on lake trips and was an avid fisherman. He was a caring son. He said he wanted to pass away in his own house in his own bed and that is exactly what he did. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, March 6th, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
