Joe Edna Biggerstaff's Obituary
Joe Edna Caudle Biggerstaff was born in Dawson County the granddaughter of two Dawson County Pioneers. I.W. Akins and Peter Miles Caudle both active and involved in the life of the Baptist Church. Having constructed a Church and School Building in the O.K. community near O’Donnel, Texas. She was raised in the welch community. Was married in Lamesa to C.C. Biggerstaff. They lived in Lubbock, Hobbs N.M. and Midland. Moving to Dallas in 1973. She graduated from Odessa College with an associate degree in applied Science with a major in Nursing. She retired as a registered nurse in 1988. Was a member of the American Red Cross. Joe invited Jesus into her heart and life at 9 years of age and joined the Baptist church. She taught in the primary Sunday school department for 20 years the taught adult women for two years, and was active in W,M.U. for many years and taught G.A.’s for several years. Then served on the review board for the Girl’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; four sisters and one brother. Survivors include one son Ray Biggerstaff; two daughters Jan Smith and Carolyn Clardy; one brother, Jehu Caudle, seven grandchildren, six, great-grandchildren; four nieces and seven nephews; Having been introduced to the medical world at an early age, She was impressed and influenced by what the doctors & nurses did to help others. She made up her mind early that she wanted to be a nurse, and this desire stayed with her. She always wanted to do what she could to help others. The service for Joe Edna Biggerstaff will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 29, 2016 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
