Joe Edward Galyon's Obituary
Joe Edward Galyon was born January 26, 1922 in Denison, Texas to Cora Belle Crow and Linden Haynes Galyon. He graduated from Denison High School in 1939. He was stationed in England with the US Army during WWII. After 30 years of government service, he retired from the Bureau of Reclamation at Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico, January 29, 1977. He returned to Texas, where he met Jerry (JJ) Bramblett. They married November 19, 1977. Through their blessed years together they enjoyed family, friends traveling, and church activities. He was a gifted story-teller with an incredible memory who loved being around people. Together Joe and JJ’s family included 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sisters, Odessa Galyon Limes and Edith Galyon Winter; brother, Hobert Galyon; daughter, Sharon Galyon Holly; and grandson, Gary Reasner. Surviving children are: Robert Galyon and wife Sarah, Sheila Reasner and husband Darrel, Debra Presley and husband Paul, James Bramblett and wife Diana, Kayla Penno, Kenneth Bramblett and wife Tracey. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Montgomery, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5th, 5:00pm to 7:30pm at Northview Baptist Church, 1981 N. Mill Street, Lewisville. The funeral will take place at 10am Friday, January 6th, also at Northview Baptist Church. His final resting place will be Restland Mausoleum. Donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the Gospel Gold choir at Northview Baptist Church.
