Joe Thomas Griffis' Obituary
GRIFFIS, JOE THOMAS was born November 24, 1942 in Dallas, Texas and passed away December 20, 2012 in Rowlett, Texas. Preceded in death by, Lois and Gene Hair, and Michael Ward. Tommy is survived by daughters, Melissa Griffis and Keith Capps of Rowlett, Meagan Griffis and grandkids, Madisyn, Mekayla, Mayson, and Mya of Forney, Texas; the love of his life, Peggy Hill of Rockwall, Texas, sister, Jean Ward and husband Jim of Aspermont, Texas; nephews, Scott and Chris Ward and their families; and numerous cousins. Tommy served his country during the Vietnam War. He attended the University of Arlington, and retired from Ayrest Laboratories after 33 years of employment. He loved bowling, cars, and sports but most of all he loved his grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mesquite Baptist Church, PO Box 850292, Mesquite, TX 75185.
