Joe Daniel Johnson's Obituary
Joe Daniel Johnson, 94, of Bentonville, AR passed away on March 31, 2022. He was born on
October 6, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Jack Felix and Cora Johnson. He was
preceded in death by his wife of over 63 years, Gloria Mae Johnson. After serving our country
in the Navy and Marine Corps, he married Gloria Mae Granger in October of 1949. Led by God,
he was ordained as a pastor on April 19, 1964. Joe and Gloria were faithful servants of God for
over 33 years, serving as Pastor to the Deaf at First Baptist Church – Little Rock, Arkansas and
First Baptist Church – Dallas, Texas. God used his gift of communication and dedication to
share the gospel message with others and reaching many hearts for Jesus. He was known to
many as simply J.J.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Felix and Cora Johnson; wife, Gloria Mae
Johnson; brothers, Jack Nathan Johnson, Bob Johnson, and Raymond Johnson; and great
granddaughter, Kaylee Nicole Johnson. What a joyful reunion that must have been as he saw
them again. He is survived by his brother, Bill Johnson of Lantana, TX, son Joey (Denese)
Johnson of Bentonville, AR; daughter Kathy (Wayne) Harrell of Fredericksburg, TX; and daughter
Beth (Rob) Vaughn of Rockwall, TX. He leaves behind grandchildren: Joshua (Melissa) Johnson,
Jennifer (Nick) Pyka, Ben Migneault, Brittney Migneault (fiancé Layne Nail), Brooke Migneault,
Rock Vaughn and great grandchildren; Jackson Pyka and Sofia Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on April 10, 2022 at Restland Funeral Home-Dallas, TX
and a service will be held at 10:00 am on April 11, 2022 at First Baptist Church-Rockwall, TX. A
private family burial will be held after the funeral.
