Joe Ledford's Obituary
Dr. Joe H. Ledford died September 25, 2015, the way he lived, “his way”, peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Wichita Falls, TX, May 14, 1934, to Dr. and Mrs. Henry P. Ledford. He graduated from Midwestern University. On June 21, 1958, he married Glenda Hairston. They settled in Wichita Falls, but soon moved to El Dorado, Kansas, where he was the Cheif Chemist for American Petrofina. Several years later they moved to Dallas where he attended Baylor College of Dentistry and received his degree in 1963. He was an instructor at Baylor College for several years after he graduated and he practiced dentistry in Richardson for 52 years. Joe was a Lifetime Member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society. He was also a fellow of the International College of Dentists. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda, and their three sons, Joe, Jr., John and wife Lori, and Jeff and wife Melanie. He had four grandchildren Justin, Jordan, Josh and Abby. Cousins John Mark and Jean Anne Hirschi, Nieces and Nephews Ken and Nancy Myers, and Karen Parker. Celebration of Life Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expy. Richardson, TX. 75080, on Friday, Oct 2, at 2:00pm. He had a love for fishing, hunting, and farming. Joe lived a great life and will be missed by all who knew him.
