Joe Neeley Jay's Obituary
JAY, JOE NEELEY – Passed away on February 24, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 27. Joe was born December 28, 1928 in Roby, Texas to Cliff and Clara Jay. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters. He was a longtime bachelor whose heart was captured by Kathryn Quain and they were married on May 12, 1991. Joe retired in 1993 after 36 years with Fidelity and Deposit Co. (now Zurich International). Joe was a 1951 graduate of Texas Tech and a US Air Force veteran. He loved sports and became an avid gardener in retirement. He was a doer, not a watcher, and was actively curious in life. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jay, two sisters, and nieces and nephews who considered him the “cool” uncle. A life lived in full.
