Joe Ninh Nguyen's Obituary
Joe Ninh Nguyen took his final flight on May 8, 2026, proving once again that the Air Force produces men who refuse to exit quietly. Born on March 20, 1945, Joe lived 81 years with the confidence of someone who had seen the world, survived it, and still had the nerve to critique everyone else’s driving.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Joe served with honor, grit, and the kind of dry humor that could slice through steel. He loved reminding people that the Air Force was the smartest branch because “we let the Army do all the cardio.”
Joe moved through life with a swagger that suggested he was either planning something or had already gotten away with it. He was known for:
· Telling stories that grew more dramatic every year
· Offering unsolicited advice with absolute confidence
· Delivering one‑liners that hit harder than they had any right to
He had a talent for making people laugh, roll their eyes, or both at once. Joe lived boldly, loved fiercely, and complained loudly — a combination that somehow made him unforgettable.
Joe is survived by the family who loved him, tolerated him, and will forever carry his stories and spirit forward:
· Ly Dinh Nguyen, his wife
· Vien Nguyen, his son
· Anh Tu Nguyen, his daughter
· Ann Nguyen, his daughter, who will forever remember his playful claim of “cheese mine,” a phrase that captured his humor and his habit of turning even small moments into family legends
· Franky Nguyen, his son
Joe is also survived by his grandchildren, listed proudly and alphabetically — because even in Heaven, he’d insist on “doing it properly”:
· Alye Nguyen
· Augustine Nguyen
· Ava Nguyen
· Ethan Nguyen
· Evan Nguyen
· Lynn Nguyen
· Quynh Nguyen
He now joins the great squadron in the sky, where he is undoubtedly telling St. Peter how to run things more efficiently.
Fly high, Joe. And try not to reorganize Heaven’s chain of command.
