Joe D. Stuart's Obituary
STUART, JOE D. Stuart (90), while surrounded by loved ones, passed peacefully back to his Father in Heaven on Thursday, October 17, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. Born on December 13, 1922 in Cleburne, Texas to Osceola and Alvin Stuart. He grew up in a close family who helped him develop into the compassionate, honest and hard working man he was, which expounded into the rest of his life. He was not known for idling away his time. He was a WWII Veteran, Texas A&M Engineering Alum, was an active Boy Scout leader, while also serving on the High Council and as Bishop in the LDS Church. He was a respected and sought after civil engineer known for his honesty and problem solving abilities. Anyone whose path has crossed with Joe’s cannot deny his engaging personality and “punny” sense of humor. He was always trying to follow Christ’s example by serving his fellow man and helping those in need. He loved his family and believed that families are forever. He is survived by wife Pat Stuart, son Todd (NC), daughter Jerel (TX), his sister – Betty (TX), 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded by his father – Alvin Stuart, mother – Osceola Stuart, brother – Howell Stuart, and sister – Catherine Shaw. “Choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15. Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
