My Mother, Glenda Massay, & friend Don Gill worked with Joe at Seminole State College during the seventies. I came across a picture of the 3 of them & started a search for Joe to let him know of Don’s passing. (10-18-18). I’m very saddened to learn of Joes passing, however, can picture 3 old friends reunited in heaven. God bless them all!

During this time he and Dorothy Pullins began a mentorship/ friendship that continued throughout the years that helped me develop professionally, personally and spiritually. I am forever grateful he shared his expertise as Financial Aid Director and Education Specialist, his professionalism, his kindness, understanding and wit. Joe – you were one of the smartest people I ever met. You also had a great sense of humor, were a story teller with a remarkable memory, and a good listener. I feel honored to have known you, and it was a real pleasure to have worked with you for so many years. You will be truly missed.
The Department of Education, Dallas Regional Office, offers our condolences and prayers to Joe’s family and friends. He was kind, had a gentle spirit and was a wonderful co-worker and a great friend to many at the Department. He didn’t like nonsense! Family, may God comfort you and give you the peace that surpasses all understanding during this difficult season. We will miss Dr. Joe.
Oh Joe, you will be missed. Always there to offer fatherly advise to a young girl when she needed it. I have thought of you throughout the years with gratitude, as someone who helped me grow. Thank you for all the inspiration at OKCCC.
