Mrs. Joel Turner's Obituary
Born December 1, 1918 in Smithville, TX; passed away August 21, 2009 in Fort Worth, TX. Following her marriage to Clyde Turner in 1948, they took up residence on Holt Street in Dallas, Texas. She retired from Southwestern Bell Company after 30 years. Following Clyde’s death in 1999, Joel continued living in their residence until she moved into an assisted living residence in Fort Worth. Joel is survived by one brother, Thomas Reid of Pearland, Texas; two sisters, Jemmie Reid Kemp of Hillsboro, Texas and Ayne Coffee of Fresno, Texas. Other survivors include five nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Turner; her mother, Hazel Nichols Reid; her father, Thomas Joel Reid; and one sister, Hazel Jane McConnell. A service will be held in Joel’s honor at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Restland’s Abbey Chapel; Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Inspiration.
