John Henry Alderman's Obituary
John Henry Alderman passed away on August 23rd. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, David and Peg Alderman, Diane and Ron Simington and Stephen Alderman; granddaughters, Ashley, Jennifer and Sarah; brother, Edward Lane. Also surviving are Kenneth Simington and daughter, Tony Simington and daughter.John was born in Wartrace, Tennessee in 1922 to David Murphy and Sadie (Stephens) Alderman. After serving in the Army during World War II, he graduated from Vanderbilt University and began a career in the oil business. During a training assignment in Franklin, Louisiana, he met the beautiful and talented (his words) Nancy Metcalfe, whom he married in 1950. They moved to Oklahoma, where their children were born, then moved to Dallas in 1962. After John retired, he and Nancy eventually moved full-time to Lake Cypress Springs in east Texas. In 2007, they moved to Denton.Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home from 2-4 PM on Friday, August 25. A memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan Denton Village at 2 PM on Saturday, August 26.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Samaritan Village Denton or the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
