John Henry Anderson's Obituary
Of Dallas, died at his home November 24, 2008. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, November 20, 1920. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School, where he was a member of the national champion eight man crew rowing team. Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, piloting a PB2Y Coronado in reconnaissance missions and attained the rank of Lt. JG. Mr. Anderson returned to Worcester after the war, and was awarded his B.S. degree in business administration from Clark University. He was employed by U.S. Envelope and transferred to their Dallas division in 1950. He spent his entire career with U.S.E./Westvaco in sales and retired in 1990. Mr. Anderson was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a long-time member of Highland Park Methodist Church. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Marie (Clark) Anderson, whom he married in 1964. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carl and Ingeborg Anderson; his brother, Herbert Anderson; and his sister, Helen C. Ryan, all of Worcester, Massachusetts. He also leaves six nephews, two nieces, and several grandnephews and grandnieces. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Matthew Whittall Masonic Lodge in Shrewsbury, and the Elks Lodge 71 of Dallas. Funeral services will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel in Dallas at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 5th. He will be buried with military honors.
