John Bealle's Obituary
John graduated from McKinley Tech in Washington D.C. John was later selected to serve an apprenticeship at the Navy Yard. There he developed knowledge and appreciation of precision optics. He contributed to the development and manufacturing of the optics used on Naval ships during World War II. He continued to work for the Navy Department until he moved his family to Southern California in 1956. There he worked for an Optical company that manufactured optics and projectors used in the movie industry. This company was then acquired by Texas Instruments when they envisioned the emergence of the field of Electro Optics. In August 1958 John moved with his family to Richardson Texas. He continued to work for Texas Instruments as a process engineer until. he retired in 1981. As a resident of Richardson John was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Richardson. He and his wife were officers and longtime members of the Kissin’ Kuzzins Square Dance Club. Within the club they developed lifelong friendships and enjoyed traveling to square dance conventions throughout the country. John enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golf and reading, coin collecting and supporting all the local sports teams. He enjoyed attending local arts including the Charles W. Eisemann CenterConcerts in the Park as well as many activities at the senior center. But most of all he enjoyed his family friends and neighbors. Those who had the honor of knowing him appreciated his humor, zest for life, kind heart and dedication to his faith. John will be dearly missed. John is survived by his son John Bealle (Karen), daughter Suzanne Merrick, granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Merrick, Melissa Kay Merrick, (Brett A. O’Bray), Lesley Anne Merrick (Matthew Sanders), and great-grandson, Jay Merrick Sanders. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary, his sister Hilda B Ingalls. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 at 2: 00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, 271 Walton St. Richardson, TX 75081. Family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
