John Patrick Brady's Obituary
John Patrick Brady, a proud U.S. Marine, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and respected businessman, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Allen, Texas, at the age of 82.
Born in Portland, Maine, John was the son of John Patrick Brady Sr. and Rozanna Marguerite Miller. He was raised in New Orleans LA and Gulfport MS with his sisters Rozanna Levine and Kathrine. John and his family later moved to San Antonio TX where he graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1961 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from North Texas State University.
In 1966, driven by love for his country, John Patrick Brady joined the United States Marine Corps. He excelled in basic training as a Combat Engineer and advanced to Officer Training School in Virginia. John Brady bravely served as a Marine officer for 13 months during the height of the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. He successfully led his platoon through intense hand combat in the jungles of Vietnam, building bridges, and clearing enemy obstructions. John Brady was known for his fearlessness, his extraordinary courage, and leadership as an officer in the Marine Corps. He was highly respected by the men he led and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, along with the Gold Marksman Shooter and Pistol Badges. He completed his service with an Honorable Discharge, having earned the deep respect of his fellow Marines and country. He lived by the motto Semper Fi which is the Marines motto for eternal commitment to success of battles, and the progress of the nation. John dedicated his life to the loyalty and respect to his fellow Marines.
Following his military service, John began a successful civilian career as an All-Lines Adjuster in Tyler, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Mary Brady. While working on her property after a small kitchen fire John fell deeply in love with Mary and the relationship they built. John and Mary married in 1976 for 49 years, they raised four children—Joanna, Raymond, Bonnie, and Melissa. John and Mary Brady later moved to Richardson, Texas, where John worked for private firms and later founded his small business, Shamrock Consulting. John Bradys accomplishments in roofing and insurance adjusting helped countless families rebuild their lives after storms and natural disasters, reflecting his lifelong desire to serve and protect others. He spent several years helping his customers all over Dallas and traveling to New Orleans to help the people impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
John Brady was a man of God, deep integrity, discipline, and quiet strength. He adored his wife Mary Brady, family, and treasured his time with animals and his grandchildren. John Brady leaves behind his loyal English Springer Spaniel Annie and cat, Willow.
He is survived by his wife Mary Brady; children Joanna, Raymond, Bonnie, and Melissa; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. His legacy of service, love, and resilience will live on in each of them.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 7th at 1:00 PM at Wildwood Chapel at Restland, and patriotic funeral services will follow the next day on Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00 AM at the Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery. Family and loved ones will be escorted with honor by local Police and the Patriot Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the ASPCA and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. John Patrick Brady was devoted to helping rescue animals throughout his lifetime and the advancements of research and assistance to the families of children in need of medical procedures.
