John Larry Brann's Obituary
John Larry Brann, of Dallas, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2016. Larry was preceded in death by his parents John F. Brann and Ruth Marie Brann of Dallas, Texas; brother William F. Brann of Isle of Palms, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Brann; sister-in-law Virginia Ann Brann of South Carolina; daughter Phyllis Neal of Farmersville, Texas; two sons Lawrence Alan Brann and partner Jack Johnson of Double Oak, Texas and William Thomas Brann and wife Michelle of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kevin Neal and wife Alicia of Pilot Point, Texas, Bryan Neal and wife Mandy of Farmersville, Texas, Bonnie Thomas and husband Shawn of Anna, Texas, Jimmy Calabrese of Double Oak, Texas, Raine Brann of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elijah Brann of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ethan Brann of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great-grandchildren Brandon, Reilly, and Brody. Larry was born in Dallas, Texas on August 4, 1933. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated from SMU. He proudly served in the Navy on active duty during the Korean War. After completing his service, he returned to Dallas to work for Mobil Oil. On August 7, 1952, Larry married Jeanette LaRue Baker from Dallas, Texas, the woman he would devote his life to for the next 63 years. His employment with Mobil Oil provided an opportunity for Larry, Jeanette and their children to travel to places all over the world including; Libya, Switzerland, and California. He returned to Dallas and continued his ventures with his private practice as a CPA, Insurance Agent, and Real-estate Broker. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, being near the ocean, and loving on his devoted dog Toto. He had many dogs in his life that he loved dearly; Tootie, Ming, Annie, Brandy, and DeeDee. His love for his pets lasted throughout his lifetime. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for your participation in Larry’s celebration of life. The visitation for John Brann will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for John will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:30 PM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
