John Bruton Brawner's Obituary
John was born in Garden Valley, TX. Over the course of his career, he served in the Army Air Corps, worked as carrier and dispatcher for the Dallas Morning News. He later was a salesman for Kaymoc Paper Co. and later purchased that company. He was a lifetime member of East Dallas Christian Church where he attended the Sanders Sunday School class. He married Marogold Cuthbertson in 1940. After her death he married his current wife Robbie Sims in 1991. John was an avid golfer and still played several times a week into his late 80’s. He is survived by wife, Robbie Brawner; his daughter, Pat Bass and husband, Sam Bass; grandchildren, Steve Bass, Patti Bass, Kelly and Greg Wilson and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Josh Hood, Abby Wilson, Jake Bass, Blake Bass. The services for John Brawner will be held at East Dallas Christian Church on December 31, 2015. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
