John Whitaker Brodnax's Obituary
Brodnax, John Whitaker ~ Age 82, died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 25, 2011. A native Dallasite, he was the founder of Brodnax Printing Company, which had a reputation as the finest printing plant in Dallas. John was proud of his employees and passionate about the printing trade, and developed many lifelong friendships over the forty years he ran the business. He was an avid sailor, photographer, golfer and woodworker. He was a true craftsman, pursuing excellence in those avocations. His forty year association with the Grape Nuts, his wine tasting group, was very special to him. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Jean Marie; children John Brodnax Jr. (wife Ann), Laurie Grinnan and Meredith Starboard; stepchildren Paul Sherman and Tracey Kinney (husband Greg and son Garrett); grandchildren Jack Grinnan, Patrick Grinnan, John Brodnax, Sam Grinnan and Robert Starboard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM, Friday, March 11, 2011 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
