John David Cassidy's Obituary
John “David” Cassidy, 79, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 9, 2024. David was born to John Roland and Eleanor Louise Cassidy in Dallas, Texas on June 16, 1944.
Upon graduating high school David went into the military. He loved his time in the Marine Corps, he took pride in what he accomplished during that time, he always enjoyed telling his boys stories of his experience.
After the military, David settled into The Colony, Texas where he and his wife, Frances “Lea” Cassidy, raised their 3 boys John, Nicholas, and Peter.
David was a talented craftsman; he could do anything with his hands. His projects always came out looking even better than ever anticipated. He put his heart into his work and it showed.
After retirement David worked for The City of The Colony as a school crossing guard. He found pride in helping the younger generation arrive safe to and from school daily.
David enjoyed watching sports, working on home projects, and cooking for his family. You could always count on family dinners at his house on Sundays.
David had such a big heart; he loved his family till no end. He wanted nothing more than to spend time with family. He had an amazing sense of humor, always witty and clever, making those around him smile and laugh. He made friends easily. To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Roland and Eleanor Louise Cassidy.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Frances Lea Cassidy, his children, John David Cassidy Jr. and his wife Randee, Nicholas Cassidy and his wife Jaime and Peter Cassidy; his grandchildren Tristen Cassidy, Christian Cassidy and Jameson Cassidy; his sister Jan Beyers and her husband Jim, his sister Colleen Austin and her husband Gary and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Restland Funeral Home - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243. The graveside service will start at 2:00pm at his final resting place - Vet II, located within Restland Cemetery.
