John Richard Cerniak, beloved son, brother, uncle and nephew, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. John is survived by his sister, Karen Straughan and brother- in-law, Stephen Straughan of Rockwall, Texas and Niece, Amy Bromley and Nephew Todd Bennett and his wife, Sherry Bennett as well as a great niece, Kara Lunsford and her husband, Mat Lunsford. Nephews, Trent Bennett,Hunter Bennett, Austin Bromley, Tyler Bromley and great, great niece, Finley Kate Lunsford. John was preceded in death by his Father, John Frank Cerniak his mother, Cora Mayes Cerniak and his nephew, Brandon Eugene Johnson as well as numerous aunts uncles and cousins.John retired from Electro Magnetic Components in 2013, as a business owner with his father. John attended North Texas State University and the University of Texas in Austin.John loved playing guitar and writing music. He also was a collector of memorabilia and antiques.John will be missed by his family and friends but his memory will always be in our hearts. He was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1948, to his loving and thoughtful parents, John and Cora Cerniak in Detroit, Michigan. John Richard Cerniak will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.The graveside service for Mr. John Richard Cerniak will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Restland Cemetery in the Rose Garden.Funeral arrangements for Mr. John Cerniak have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
