John Chappell's Obituary
John William Chappell passed away March 8, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Dallas in 1961 and raised in Highland Park, he graduated from Stephen F Austin State University. He was a long-time manager for Enchilada's restaurants. Before that, he had worked in the Dallas Sidekicks ticket office. John loved dogs, amusement parks, history, Texas Rangers baseball, Halloween, toy soldiers, photography, them Cowboys, flea markets, movies, the State Fair of Texas and Champagne cocktails made with proper sugar cubes. Most of all, John loved his friends. And he had lashings of them: from Boy Scouts and grade school classmates to Sigma Chi brothers, to co-workers and customers and more. So many wonderful people and such fun stories - these are what made John happiest. Preceded in death by his mother Julia Conaway, John is survived by his father Jerry D Chappell and dear family friend Ramona Hanson. His gentle heart will be especially missed by his pal Wendy Cook. Veterans' groups and pet rescue societies were two causes John supported enthusiastically.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13
