John B. Chase Jr. (Bud), 86, was born in Denver, Colorado on September 28, 1930 and passed away on January 13, 2017 at his home in Plano, Texas. John was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Chase; son, Michael Chase; father, John B. Chase; mother, Jennie (nee Stewart) Chase; sister, Jeanetta Hollihan and sister, Ann Chase. Survived by son, Joseph (Sonia) Chase of Plano, TX; daughter, Ann (Kyle) Nickerson of Allen, TX; daughter, Suzanne Chase of McKinney, TX; son, John (Kozetta Thomas) Chase of Overland Park, KS; granddaughters, Rebecca Chase, Stephanie Nickerson, Kathleen Chase, Mindy (Will) Labrecque; grandsons, Steven Nickerson and Eric (Hannah) Chase; great-grandsons, Abel Labrecque, Wyatt Labrecque and Dax Nickerson; sister, Mae Mulcahy and brother, Daniel (Carol) Chase; his dear in-laws, and Uncle Bud’s numerous nieces and nephews. John grew up in Denver, Colorado. Following Graduation from West Denver High School in Denver, CO, he attended Colorado School of Mines and in 1953 graduated with a Geologic Engineering degree. He immediately went to work for Sinclair Oil Company. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. After service to his country, he returned to Sinclair Oil which later became ARCO and remained there for 32 years. He moved often during his career and became a manager in the Exploration Systems Department prior to retirement. John married the girl next door, his darling “Whisper”, Barbara Pepin in 1955 in Denver, Colorado. They were happily married for nearly 39 years until her death. His wide ranging interests led to participation in playacting, sports, volunteering, chili cook-offs and sharing his education in science and literature with anyone who was interested. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sports, reading, computers, and playing board and card games. In honor of John and to help others, the family asks you to consider becoming a blood donor. Rosary will be Friday January 20, 2017 at 6:30-7:00 PM followed by The Vigil from 7:00- 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM. All services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 2700 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
