John, thanks for all the great talks about family, the Cowboys, golf the military, and, of course, our endless debate over whether Woodman's or Farnham's of Essex, MA had the better fried clams( hint: Farnham's). Our golf games were too few, and we usually only saw each other at the tee and the green. I was willing to explore exciting new places on the golf course like woods, sand and water while you stubbornly stuck to the fairway. To a golf game near par, and a life lived well above par. Here's to you. The Taylor family will miss you deeply. Say hi to Dad and Mom for me. Dave Taylor
Alicia, Ashley, and I wanted to offer our deepest condolences. Looking at the shared video that was posted on this site, what a beautiful life he had filled with family, friends and memories.
Barbara and John were the kindest neighbors anyone could ever hope for. We loved our driveway “catch-ups” about the ongoings in each other’s lives: How our lawns were doing, what’s happening at Hackberry CC (what was good and what could be [improved] upon, local sports teams, family, and upcoming and past travels and the awesome comps he got at the casinos or on cruises.
They were both so willing to offer help, when we left town, by checking mail and watering the palms. Neighborly things…
John was always so friendly and happy…always tinkering in the yard anticipating Barbara calling him inside because it was too hot or time for dinner, or maybe dropping a few golf balls and playing our hole , #6 in the evenings. He was so nice about how much he enjoyed sitting on his porch and seeing the flowers we planted.
I posted these pictures of our palms because John always said how much he liked them. Even though we are on our third version of the tree closest to them because of the crazy Texas weather, I always wanted to replant them since we both enjoyed them so much.
John and Barbara will be sorely missed but their spirits will live on forever.

Please accept our sincere condolences on John’s passing away! I remember when we moved to Shumard oak both John & Barbara greeted us with bright smiles & beautiful flowers! They’ve both been like a family for us & both our boys enjoyed talking to them. While Ravi liked talking to Barbara & was her favorite kiddo Harii our youngest son was John’s favorite & they always had a great conversations, & that’s how John introduced him to engineering & also his son Ben. Each time Harii was home he’d always meet John & enjoy talking with him, quite unusual as Harii is more of a shy & reserved person. We’d always see John working in the yard & taking care of the house. Both him & Barbara were very proud of their kids & grandkids & would always mention the grandson who went to study in Cambridge to pursue his passion for race cars. He was a legend, a very kind hearted person & a wonderful neighbor. May his soul rest in peace.
